"Het Moment" is its visitors’ and experience centre, housing a home brewery, a cheese ripening area, a bakery, an abbey shop and a covered exhibition centre.

The new experience centre is situated in the protected buildings within the walls of the abbey. To fully safeguard the site’s historical character, only minimal adaptions were made to the existing outer walls. New parts are executed in openwork masonry offering a clearly noticeable yet subtle change.

The design of the home brewery, the dining hall, the bakery and the abbey shop are all completed with black steel walls and wooden furniture. The multi-faceted production processes are made clear by the internal connection of these rooms. Exploring, tasting and enjoying is what matters here.

At the spot where the historical abbey wall had disappeared, a new covered exhibition area restores the former strongholds. The exposition also functions as a new gatehouse. Large diamond shaped displays tell the stories of the Abbey and “Het Moment”.
