Cohousing project for eight families in Deurne, near Antwerp.
A dilapidated farmhouse with outbuildings was converted into a cohousing project for eight families. The residents share an outdoor space, a multipurpose room and storage rooms, and each of them has a private terrace.
All structures on the protected site were repurposed. We chose timber-frame construction for the replacement buildings and worked with box-in-box systems at the units that could be restored.
Within this overall project, we also designed the interior of one of the units: House PVDB.
