Hospitality

This former post office in Ostend is officially listed and was designed by architect Gaston Eysselinck in 1945. The building was restored by B-architecten and repurposed into the vibrant cultural centre De Grote Post. The building also houses the accompanying CultuurCafé, a bar and restaurant whose interior was designed by B-bis.

Located on the left-hand side of the building, the CultuurCafé enhances the interaction between the culture building and its immediate surroundings. The interior builds on the original elements of the building. The chosen materials ensure a seamless transition between old and new, resulting in a contemporary place that respects its original design at all times.
