Die Entführung aus dem Paradies

He can no longer stand the romantic relationship between two people: it is a love that locks out every third party.
As he tells his story he looks back on his past loves and is left with the following question: is it possible to break free from the turmoil of succeeding loves and reach a celestial state in which all people love each other? While the idea ripens in his mind, he falls victim to exactly that which he is running from. His brain clouded by a mere sunset, he gives in to yet another love affair. Albeit knowing that it is only an illusion.
The dream world of the tea room is evoked in the mise-en-scene. Chairs and tables are lowered on the stage, then lifted up again to finally end up somewhere in between in a jumble. This jostling of chairs follows the mind games in the play and adapts to the dreams of the main character.
