House VDH
Individual housing
In a stately area of Antwerp, we transformed a run-down three-fronted flat into a luxury residence for a retired couple.
The new wooden kitchen is now connected to the living space. In the corridor, we introduced glass doors with steel profiles, allowing daylight to enter deep into the apartment. In addition, this corridor now also connects the living space with the reading room at the other side of the flat, thus breaking the boundary between the daytime and the nighttime zone. A new, dark-stained wooden floor continues throughout the flat, bringing all the rooms together into a unified whole. Bathroom, dressing room and bedroom are connected and form the night area. The external walls were insulated on the inside, the external wooden joinery was replaced and all techniques renewed.
